URN:NBN Resolving Plugin for Mozilla (from Version 1.5 onwards), Netscape 7.1, Firefox 0.8
At present URNs administered by the German National Library are resolved from
within their URLs, so that the "Resolver URL" is given together
with the URN, for example
The application and use of URNs will be simplified, if the URN resolution
happens without the "Resolver URL"
The URN can then be entered directly into the browser's input line.
Entering the URN is thereby made quicker and simpler.
On an internet page, the URN can be presented as a link, pointing to a URN.
The EPICUR project developed a Plugin for the Mozilla browser (version 1.5
onwards), which Netscape 7.1 and Firefox 0.8 provided a direct resolution of URNs with the "NBN"

The URN Support
Plugin developed by Shimoda Hiroshi of Japan was used as a model.
Step 1: Do you have a Mozilla, Netscape or Firefox browser installed?
To successfully install the plugin, you must have version 1.5 or later of
the Mozilla, Netscape or Firefox browser.
If you do not have the above mentioned browser, you can
download and install it from following locations:
If you are already using the Mozilla, Netscape or Firefox browser, continue to the next step.
Save the browser binary on your local hard drive.
Take care when downloading the browser to get the right
version for your operating system, such as Windows NT, XP or Linux.
Various versions are available.
Then start the installation by clicking on the saved file.
The browser will now be installed. It is recommended that you
do not change any of the settings. Any error messages that appear can

"Edit/Preferences" at the <Advanced/Software

De-installation under GNU Linux/UNIX
